Policy

The Board authorizes the Superintendent to close any school if health or safety of student is endangered.

The Board authorizes the principal to close a school in cases of serious emergency, such as a breakdown in service facilities resulting in intolerable classroom conditions. If such a closure is carried out, the principal must report the action immediately to the Superintendent giving full details as to why the action was necessary. Proper precautions must be taken by the principal to notify parents or guardians of the children affected.
