Enhanced Opportunity Project (EOP)

   The Enhanced Opportunity Project (EOP) provides extra funding for students in Grades 1 - 6. Because of this funding we are able to provide extra LAC support for the students and we are able to buy materials to support the programs in Grades 1 - 6. The LAC (Learning Assistance Centre) teachers coordinate the Helping Hands and Literature Circles, which help to improve students' reading and spelling skills. The popular Accelerated Reader program was purchased through this project. Comprehension materials for Grades 4 - 8 have been purchased. The Hot Lunch Program is also coordinated through this project. In-service is regularly provided to teachers and assistants on topics such as reading, spelling, comprehension and social skills.
