Dr. K. A. Clark School
Library
The Dr. Clark Library has
a part-time Teacher-Librarian and a full-time Library Secretary and is open
during school hours for students and extended hours for staff.
The Accelerated Reader Program is
supported by the library. We maintain lists of fiction and non-fiction materials
for use by the students and staff in the Program. We also are always searching
for books and tests that may be added to the Program.
Other materials in the collection support the school
curriculum. These resources assist the students and staff by providing more
in-depth coverage of the topics studied or referred to in the classroom.
The Kindergarten and Grade 1 students come to the library
weekly for a story and to sign out books. The Grade 2 students visit the library
on a daily basis and the Grade 3 students visit the library weekly as a class to
exchange their library materials. The students involved in the Accelerated
Reader Program, Grades 4 - 8, Junior Skills and Intermediate Skills visit the
library as needed to exchange their books.
The Grade 4 - 8 classes also use the library or the computer
lab at scheduled times to participate in research
projects.
