Literature Circle   

    For students in Grades 4 - 8 who are experiencing difficulty with reading comprehension or for some reason are not able to get many points for Accelerated Reader, we offer assistance through Literature Circles.

   Groups of five students are chosen from each class to read a novel with the LAC teacher. The group reads aloud, discusses difficult vocabulary, and discusses the plot of the novel. The groups meet four times per week and are given nightly reading assignments from the novel. When the group completes the novel they do the AR test.

   The program has been very successful with more than 95% of the students involved passing their AR tests.
