Native Liaison

   The Native Liaison Support Worker, Mrs. Hazel Derange, works with Native students, Parents, Teachers and the community by ensuring that communication lines are strengthened between student, parent and school. The other responsibility of this position is to create and implement programs that will promote cultural awareness and pride in the students which enhances their academics.

   Some of these programs which are in effect now are:
    After School Homework Club
    Arts and Crafts
    Aboriginal Awareness Days and Games
    R.A.R.A.
    Classroom Presentations
    Bannock Baking at Teachers' Request
    Teacher Assistant for Native Student

   Our Native students who are presently involved in one or more of the programs are very enthusiastic and eager to learn more about their culture. Parents are always welcome to come to the school or to the Parent Resource Room or if they prefer, the Native Liaison will arrange a home visit. Please call Dr. Clark School Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 743-2444.
