They
also travel with canoes, and with bigger boats. Some boats have two
levels.
People can travel for days up and down the Amazon River. They hang their hammocks up to sleep in them.
Some boats are huge ships, and carry goods up and down the river. The river is so wide, the ships can travel 1,200 km. up the Amazon River to Manaus, a big city in the jungle. This boat says "Jesus Saves" on the side. Many of the boats have names. There are no roads along the sides of most of the rivers. But some houses are connected by foot paths.
