Josef
couldn't use a key chain because his house didn't have walls, nor doors, nor
locks. There are not many people living in the jungle. Everyone knows each other. They are often related, with big families, all connected
together. Aunts, cousins, grandparents, kids, and parents can all
live together. They share work, food and homes. This is called "extended families". I asked Josef how
many people live in his house. He said, (in Portuguese), "Well, there are hooks for 16
hammocks. Whoever is here at night time can sleep here."
Can you see how they cleared away some trees to make the house? It is nice being inside a round house, looking up at the palm thatched roof.
