Carnival is an exciting festival, held 40 days before Easter. For four days during Carnival, there is dancing and parades through all the main streets in Brazil. In Rio, the dancers wear very fancy dresses and head ornaments, as on these dolls. They even have entire schools that teach the people in the parades all the dances. The dresses are sometimes so elaborate and heavy that the dancers have to be athletes!
