There is a chapel inside his feet! It is 30 metres tall and weighs 1000 tonnes. This statue is so large, that there is a small room in its base. There is a church service in it every day. The largest religion in Brazil is Catholic, so their services are called masses.
This statue was finished in 1931. It was built to celebrate the 100th anniversary of freedom from Portugal.
It is also on top of a high hill that overlooks the city of Rio. Many tourists go there every day.
